sleep apnea in toddler

anyone have any experience of this?
yesterday my son feel asleep in car. he always snores but yesterday i was sat next to him, and couple of times chest moving but not not breathing then suddenly gasps nad pants like had been holding breath.
hes gone down the centiles was 9lb 3 at birth now smallest of his peers. (hes just over 2)

I would get his tonsils checked.

and his adenoids.

hes had frequent infections and i have been told he has enlarged tonsils several times. but apart from course of antibiotics nothing else has been suggested.
will push for more checks.
