dd4 has a lump on the right side of her neck. am not overly concerned as it moves, but am taking her to the gp just to make sure. but my feeling is its just a swollen gland.

but she also has a hard lump behind her right ear. i have no idea what it is.

That would be a gland aswell. They are all over the shop.

misdee · 26/07/2009 23:06

its hard and feels like bone. it doesnt move. its smaller than a pea.

If it grows and shrinks it's a gland. Honest

misdee · 26/07/2009 23:10

it hasnt shrunk. the one behind her ear. its where the ear meets the skull. it doesnt feel like the one in her neck.

the one in her neck i noticed about a month ago, and it hasnt gotton smaller. but she has been ill a bit recently. its softer and moves. it freaks me out as i can move it if i stroke her neck when feeding her.

I'm sure the GP will have a proper look at it though, it really does sound like a gland, try not to worry though, the GP will be able to tell you more as he can see it.

My dd gets this, it's a gland. Would still take her to the dr though. My dd had glandular fever and she gets these when it recurs or if she is run down.

My little guy has a lump on his back, very hard.
Ultra sound was inconclusive, NHS Dr said might be lipoma of collagen rather than fat.
we have gone private and they are sending him for an MRI as a guess just isnt good enough...

can you ask to go private or have in invegigated nmore?

misdee · 18/12/2009 07:04

ok, now i am worrying more,

back in july the doc said it was a swollen gland.

it has gotton bigger and smaller over the last few months, but now def seems bigger and harder.

back off to the gp i think.

My sister's gland came up when she was about 11. She's 39 now and it's still very much there.
