9 month old temp over 38 for three days NO other symptoms other than grizzle. ? Doctor is stumped but I

am wondering if it could be the start of chicken pox...maybe? Seem to remember dd1 had a run of no symptom fever and it is going around. Ruled out ears, throat infections, teething and are waiting for urine test to be ruled out but as its weekend this will be ages away for results. With lack of sleep I am getting a little jumpy about this whilst waiting 'to see'.
She's fine in herself apart from being nagy (food poo drink play etc) so why a fever? It spikes 39 occasionally.
Doctor threw in swine flu - but with no symptoms going I just am not convinced.
Any guesses anyone?

This is just what children do. High temperatures with no obvious signs of where the infection is. 38-39 is not that high, and it's good that she is fine in herself as you say.

Thank for replies, her sister has it now. The man fixing my car says his girlfriend works in a nursery and there is a temperature bug going round freaking everyone out. There you go. Doctor couldn't tell me that and also, I bet, couldn't fix my car!
