Probably a very silly question re tonsils/tonsilitis...

...can you still get tonsilitis if you've had your tonsils removed?

Be gentle with me.

no but you can still get a throat infection

and uvulitis and pharyngitis and larynitis - loads of bits in that area to get infected and make you feel rubbish - not a silly question

Thank you.

Yes, that makes sense. dd2 (2.5) had tonsils and adenoids removed in January, but also has laryngomalacia (floppy larynx) and still has a narrow airway at the top - iyswim - so am concerned about anything that could make her throat swell up on the inside.

Lots of nasty throats with SF around at dd1's school, am trying to figure out whether dd2 is higher risk because of her larynx - or just on the grounds of being little. Guess tonsils are the most suffocate-able bits in there, apart from uvula, but yes lots of others!
