DD is having terrible smelly night sweats

DD is having terrible night sweats for about the first 3 hours she goes to sleep, and the sweat has a very strange smell, not a bo smell like a sweet smell. Her hair is completely soaking.

She is laid upstairs with just a nightie on, no covers and windows on the lock, it is not hot here but her hair is still wringing wet with sweat. Any experience of this, i am worrying over nothing?

She had a urine dip test done at gps 3 weeks ago to check the pains werent a urine infection, so wont that have tested for sugars?

Don't know about that one, but I do know that things can change rapidly with diabetes and that also it can be a 'moving target' in the early days when the pancreas is still working somewhat.

Don't talk yourself into it, and don't let us over panic you - just for your sake and those 'lurking' and reading this it's so important to be aware.

I really hope it's something of nothing. x

Bumping, because I want to know how you've got on!?

Took her to gp today who was pretty useless really, he said to put her back on milk as this obviously wasent the cause of her tummy ache, he said he was at a blank, and didnt know what the tummy pains or night sweats were!!! He said as she has had tummy ache on and off for 5 weeks now he would write a letter to her paeditrician to ask for further tests, we dont see paeditrician till the 30th july so guess its just monitor till then! She has come out in spots tonight all round her mouth and red spot on her belly and one the size of a £2 coin on her leg that is bright red with yellow head. Dont really know what to do now, except wait

did you not query diabetes?

mummytopebs · 13/07/2009 21:49

He just said it wasent his area and all he could do was refer her, but as she had an appt with her paeditrician on the 30th he would just write to her. I dont think he is concerned cos the tummy pain not constant. The urine she had done last week was fine
