symptoms of ear infection but 7 month old has chicken pox, What do you think?

ds2 has caught from ds1, just before he got the CP i noticed he was tuggig and pulling on his left ear and was a bit red, i assumed teething, then has come out in CP, today is quite bad despite calpol etc, do you only get ear infection with a high temp?

You can get an ear infection as a side effect of CP. Or he may actually have some spots inside his ear. Take him to the GP to get it checked out.
