Ds is 12 months old and has woken up with big yellow patches on his legs. At first I thought it might be dirt as he has been toddling around on the grass for a few days, but it is definately the skin. There are several big areas on each leg that are yellow. SOmething to worry about?

is it grass stains? bruises? has he had any coloured food or drink? suncream?

It's a bit unusual and not something I've seen before either working in general practice or while I did paediatrics (which is probably quite reassuring as we tend to see bad things not things that go away on their own).

If he seems fine in himself then I'd just watch and wait and see what happens. If after a few days it still doesn't go (or wash off) make a routine appointment with your GP for their opinion.

(and let us know what it is - {nosy emoticon] )

Hi. Did you find out what this was? My son has the same thing on one of his thighs and on his belly.
