My 2-year-old has just banged his head and is now trying to sleep...what should I do?

I didn't think it was that big a bang, and he didn't cry uncontrollably, however, since hitting his forehead (against a table) he has been sleepy and almost fell asleep on my lap. I stirred him awake and he's now watching vids on youtube while I type. He hasn't vomited or anything like that.

He hasn't napped today (he didn't want to - he doesn't usually nap these days) so of course it could just be natural tiredness in the heatwave. But I don't know whether I should be overcautious as I've never had to deal with this before. I'd appreciate any advice!

Think you're supposed to let em sleep (not uncommon after a bang) but check that they're rousable every half an hour or so.

Quick call to the non-emergency health line if you have on in your area? Is it an 0300 number or summat? Or ring NHS direct to confirm that advice?

good advice here you can let him nap but wake himup every 30 mins

Thanks Lupus and ggirl, I've checked the symptoms list and he doesn't have any of them. I'll keep an eye on him and will call NHS direct (just moved to new area so don't know about health services yet!) if needs be.

Thanks all!
