Minor query but slightly worried..

DD1 (who's 3 btw) fell over this morning around 11.30. She has bruised both her knees and has cut one of them fairly badly. She also grazed her elbows and hands - pretty standard stuff for a trip. BUT it took me 1/2 hr to calm her down - I had to carry her home (no mean feat!) and now almost 6 hrs later she still claims she can't walk properly (she can walk on tiptoes) and dissolves into tears if I go anywhere near her injuries.
I'm probably being very pfbish and she's probably being a dramatic 3 yr old but do you think she could have done something more serious - its the non-walking thing that worries me....
Come and tell me she'll be fine please...

Oh poor thing, sounds nasty for her. Can you try a relaxing warm bath for her. It would help bathe her wounds and relax any muscle aches. Presume you've given calpol or equivalent?
I wouldn't rush anywhere today but if she is refusing to walk tomorrow I would take her to a&e perhaps.

Won't get in/sit in the bath - screamed at the suggestion of calpol (which is very unusual as she is normally desperate for 'pink medicine')

Try putting some antiseptic cream on when she is asleep.

I have magic cream i.e. germolene with local anaesthetic and it usually seems to do the trick but both mine usually let me deal with them when required luckily.

Grazes do really sting, don't they? Hopefully, thats all it is.

Can she fully rest her weight on each leg?

And is it sore anywhere else on her legs when you touch it ?(other than the grazes)

Non walking 6 hours after an injury does worry me
She could have sustained a greenstick fracture

Hi, sorry haven't got back to this thread - she seems fine now - continued whinging right thru bathtime and bedtime but seemed fine in the morning - she has two massive bruises on each knee so that was probably the problem...still very sore and achey though .
She broke her wrist when she was one and the only way you could tell was cos she didn't put weight on - which made me paranoid this time...
Bless her she is milking it for all its worth - 'I need to rest my legs by watching cbeebies and eating chocolate'
