Chest Infections

3 weeks ago DS 13 had a febrile convulsion at school. Only symptoms were feeling unwell, temperature and stomach ache. In hospital they took an xray and he had a shadow on one of his lungs, so diagnosed with atypical chest infection and given week course of antibiotics.
He was cleary not well for a few days but never developed a cough and was back to himself within a week.
This weekend he has been camping with the scouts and came back with a bad cough and feeling very well again, although not having any sleep will have something to do with it.
We have no experience of chest infections in our family, does this sound that he hasn't fully recovered from the previous one.

Do I take him to gp straight away or wait a few days?
