How well can a 3 year old regulate body temp? Dd2 very hot.

Dd2 has been fine all day but has now gone floppy and quite, she has a temp of 38.9 but no other symptoms. She was in the sun for a while whilst we waited for dd1 to come out of school and it was very hot (no shade). Has she just got really hot outside or does it sound like she is coming down with something?

Can you keep her inside in the cool for the rest of the day, plenty of water to drink and cbeebies to keep her in one place if need be. Keep an eye on her temp too. With a bit of luck she's just hot + bothered. If she doesn't perk up later then you could call nhs direct. Hope she's much better later .

She's still very hot, she's sat in front of a fan but shivering, hasn't eaten and is looking really pale.

I'm really worried she's going to be sick (i am sickness phobic), dd2 hasn't been sick since she was a baby. She's very sleepy, should i just let her sleep or will this make her sick?

I would put her in a tepid bath and if she dosen't come round bring her to the doctors

Its hard to no what to do with her, she has Autism and wouldn't respond well to a bath, she's non-verbal and can't tell me how she's feeling, it makes me feel so as i don't know if she's in pain or hot/cold.

A tepid bath will bring her temp down,
has she had enough to drink?
If she is still floppy I would call the doctor

She's asleep, sat up on the sofa, very floppy and still hot, my doctor is useless, last time dd had a high temp i phoned and they wouldn't do anything as long as she was drinking (which she is now).

I would get more advice tbh.

If my doc was useless I would be bringing her to the hospital

She's bucked up a little now but still has a temp of 38.6, i'm trying to get some medicine into her but she won't take it (i have put some in her drink and she has drank half).

Could it be sun stroke, would that cause a temp? She was fine at 3 o clock, it was after we got home that she went floppy and hot.

She's now sat up and humming to the TV.

I know i should really take her to see someone but because she has Autism she finds trips to hospitals/gp's very distressing, i don't want to upset her unless i really have too.

She has had a temp like this before (around the same time last year), i took her to the gp the next day and they couldn't find anything wrong with her. She seems to get temps a lot which is why i wonder if she has a problem controlling her body temp.
