Travel sickness advice Please?

I'm trying to fix all of Ds's problems in one hit this morning.
He suffers from travel sickness not keen on pills but will take any advice. Cheers

We always used Joyrides for DD. We tried other non-tablet style stuff but tablets were the only thing that worked for her.

Don't let her do any reading while in the car

Get her to eat stem ginger, or failing that ginger biscuits or ginger beer (but make sure it actually contains real ginger)

The wristlets work for dd.

Oh Ds loves ginger biscuits. It only happens after two-three hours of driving not a short hop. Thank you we will try ginger. Well keep other advice as plan B,C,D,E until something works.

My friend told em an old trick her Dad used to do, and it worked with our (very sick) dd when she was little.

You fold up a piece of kitchen roll, put it on their tummy under their clothes and tell them that will stop them feeling sick. It sounds nuts, but it wokrs.

You can also get them to sit on a sheet of newspaper, that 'works' too. (We use that one on school coach trips with the likely pukers)

MrsM, I'll give it a go. Better than popping pills. We have a life time to work through this. Wish we could go everywhere on the train. He is never sick on the train

they do grow out of it though, well my DD has, very nearly

it helps her to sit in the front and to have the window open

the wristbands helped DS as did the joyrider tablets

don't let him read or play consoles
and have plenty of wet clothes in plastic bags, along with kitchen roll, and a change of clothes handy (there's nothing like lugging the suitcase out the boot on the hard shoulder to find clean clothes to raise DH's blood pressure!)

purepurple True, mys sis & nephew grew out of it. I'll try the wristbands too but it never worked for nephew but hey my boys not him. Thanks for the tip.

The good thing with Joyrides is unlike lots of the other tablets they can take them once they start to feel sick. DD doesn't always get travel sick, she's better on some journeys than others (and usually better when I drive than when Stirling Moss her father drives).

smudgethepuppydog Thank you. Thats handy to know. DH is a very comfortable driver. My ex was a nightmare that's another reason he's an ex. So much more than just his driving
