Nail biting - any ideas?

DS1 aged 7 has turned into really bad nail biter - used to have lovely nails till about the age of 5/6, but recently is biting/picking them a lot. DH is also a horrible nail biter! I know DS is a worrier and highly strung, so know WHY he does it, just woul like to deter him. Anyone found anything that works? Haven't tried StopnGrow yet.

I can't help you with ways to stop it but I can warn you that sometimes stopping the nailbiting can lead to biting the skin around the nails instead - it did in my case anyway .
I haven't bitten my nails since I was very young but have never been able to break myself of the much more painful and disfiguring habit of skin biting.

I have 2 biters, both boys. I just let them get on with it. I pick at my nails all the time, some folk hair twiddle, it's just a habit they have.
