DS swallowed 5p -- How long to, um, reappear?

DS (15 months) swallowed 5p on Thursday.

Took him to A & E and they located it in his tummy by a metal detector. They said it would pass through eventually.

Any idea how long?

Thursday? Wow, I'd have thought you would have seen it by now. Any chance you may have missed it on the way out?

Possible, I suppose. The A & E doc said that the day before, she had a child in who had swallowed 50p That would be painful...

My 3yo niece recently swallowed 20p and had to visit A&E. I didn't think to ask my sister how long it took to come out .
