Chicken pox rash but no other symptoms?

NHS Direct nurse nearly certain that DS (22 months) has chicken pox - red spots on his face and tummy and lots in the groin and testicle area (poor little sod), also some on his back which look v blistery.

But he has had no other symptoms at all. Anyone else had this? Does this mean he's less likely to develop other symptoms?

Neither of my DCs have had chickenpox, but I remember from my own experience as a child that I too had a few spots and no other symptoms at all. I wasn't particularly itchy and otherwise I felt fine. Maybe he's just lucky like I was.

Ds had no other symptoms. Spots started appearing on a sunday and cleared up so quickley that he was back at school by the end of that week.

I did find that with both of mine they were at their worst on days 2-3.

ds1 had pretty much no other symptoms when he first got his spots. I think he had a bit of a temp the day after and was generally "unwell" for a few days, but aside from that nothing

OK, that sounds pretty much what we're getting - thank you.

DS got spottier and spottier till about lunchtime, and has been v whiny at times, but a combo of Piriton, Calpol, calamine and an oat-and-calamine bath seem to keep it at bay.

Waiting to see what the night brings, but hopefully it'll be manageable.

my ds1 is the same at the moment - spots all over tummy, back and groin but no other symptoms. It's beena bit of a nightmare because we're missing out on loads of stuff we had planned for this weekend but he says hes not ill because he doesn't feel unwell if you see what I mean so why can't he go!! Doesn't get the whole contagiousness thing!
