DH & I are on a weeks holiday & yesterday our 'mums', who are looking after DD's, phoned & told us DD1 has mumps

She was sent home from school & has been to the DR's. Apparently she is fine, chatted away to us on the phone. Mums have said she is fine, excited about being off school & chatting non-stop. Her face is swollen & the dr has just said to give her neurofen & fluids. Dr also said it's likely DD2 will catch it.

I'm sure she is going to be fine, but it's horrible being so far away.Just got to a computer & of course googling away at mumps. All in all it seems it's fairly harmless & will just run it's course without any problems.

I remember having mumps. I didn't feel ill at all and went bouncing into my grandparents' room and they said, "OH MY GOD!"

Apparently my face was all swollen up. I thought it was the biggest skive ever because I didn't have to go to school and I felt fine

So if she's feeling good, I'm sure she'll be fine.
