Hi all, my 20mo ds has had very loose stools for a few months now, sometimes they're literally just water with bits in. I've been consulting with my HV's because he's in full time nursery and they keep sending him home because of it. The HV suspects it's TD and has given me a list of foods they should eat including chicken nuggets, sauages, white bread and pasta. Apparantly he may need more fatty food. They've also sent off a stool sample because he had a run of bugs early in the year and they want to rule out any lasting nasties. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with this because apparantly it can last til they're 5 or 6 and it's more common in boys. I have stopped him drinking squash and limited his fruit intake, in accordance with the advise given by the HV. Thanks very much.

Have you tried a probiotic to impove gut flora? Their immune systems are very easy to knock out of kilter and a powder like infant acidophilus might help? You can get strawberry flavour or plain and it dissolves into milk undetected. It was genius for us after a year of bugs.
