this is my first post so apologies for any mistakes. My little boy is 6 and a half months old and was diagnosed with a perforated eardrum today, he was very unsettled for 10 days and yesterday it started oozing. Doc has prescribed antibiotics that i can collect from tomorrow if we have a bad night but says it will probably be fine without....does anyone have any experience with this, am wondering if i should start them regardless just to be on the safe side?

My aged health visitor told me a perforated eardrum was the worst pain she had ever experienced i think id go with a/bs tbh.
poor ds x

I'm not sure...

When my DS fell of his bike (age 8) he landed heavily on his face (typically he was on the drive at home - we religiously wear helmets when out for a bike ride ... but not when up and down the road )

he perforated his ear drum.

The advice from the hospital was to leave alone and it would repair itself.

However there is a huge difference between an 8 year old and a baby.
