Well,
Following nearly 4 months of good health I have come home to find DS cough, cough, cough every 2 mins. He sounds a little wheezy on exhalation. Gave 6 puffs of salbutamol. He is playing fairly happily but still the little coughs every 2 mins.
My brain is frazzled (revising for finals next week!) and seems like a long time since I had to deal with this.
Out of hours? monitor at home?
oh, DS is 2 1/2 and used to be like this on an almost weekly basis leading to lots and lots of admissions, but vast improvement following removal of tonsils and adenoids.
In fact had to hunt for blue inhalers, 6 months ago we had one in every room
C'mon, wise woman, advise me

Is his stomach/ribs bit sucked in at all?

Is he still sounding wheezy? Is 6 puffs his normal dose and was it via a spacer device? I'd give one more lot of dose then re-assess in 10 minutes. If no relief on the wheeze then I'd phone out-of-hours for advice. We've always been advised against too much blue inhaler in any four hour period as it can lessen the effect of a nebulizer if required.

How is he now?
