What are the effects of hot baths?

Can anyone tell me what the effects of children taking hot baths are?

The reason I ask is that I regularly have a bath with my 2 yo ds. I like the water quite hot, so we have it hotter than we would if it was just him on his own. Now, he doesn't ever seem bothered about the heat and when I ask him if it is too hot he says "no, nice and warm". So we are not talking about skin-burning hot here.

However, he does often go quite pink.

I am just wanting to know if there is any medical reason why he should have baths that are cooler? I love having baths with him, but I don't want to do him any damage! Can anyone advise me?

Thanks

If he can tolerate it then it's fine. DS and I have always had baths together and I like the water hot, DS's skin would also go a little pink but he never complained that it was too hot. Now, at 6, he likes his baths hot too.

I really don't think you need to worry.

Thanks overmydeadbody. Just had worries at the back of my mind that I might be making him infertile! But maybe I should relax.
