DD 7 months with a suspected Mucocele - anyone had experience??

Hi

Took dd (7 months) to the hospital this morning . She's been very grizzly for a few days, sleeping terribly and pulling off from the boob with a really pained expression and a yelp regularly.

We put it down to teething but this morning DP noticed a red swelling (like a skin balloon type thing) on the inside of her bottom lip/where it meets the cheek.

Doctors think it's a mucocele and we're off to see a specialist on Thu. Until then we only have calpol/calprofen to rely on

My main concern is that from reading about them they are often recurring and I hate the thought of dd being in regular pain with them.

Apparently they either rupture and heal themselves or they require minor surgery to remove .

Has anyone had any experience of these??

Ta in advance.
