Hello everyone, am new to this to will have to excuse me if I waffle on! My 8 year old some came home from school on Friday with headache, that lead to fever of 102, painkillers kept in down. All yesterday same, but with sore throat and diziness, drank plenty, ate nothing, this morning no temp, almost back to normal except for swollen red tonsils - not sure if he needs antibiotics as it's just these that are giving pain other than that he's as right as rain eating, drinking and annoying little sister! Any help or advise would be appreciated I know it's late so sorry!

I would get him checked by a doctor. My son has been sick with similar symptoms since last Wednesday. I think its worth it for peace of mind, with so many viruses about! That way if he needs antibiotics, he'll get them and if he doesn't at least you know for sure! Sorry, am probably not a huge help!

if he's better except big tonsils then don't worry, the tonsils are there to clear infection, so they're doing their job. as long as he's not poorly, I personally wouldn't bother going to the GP. HTH.
