really weird, my 8 1/2 yr old dd has had a smelly head lately for maybe 2 months. Her hair smells of nothing but the actual scalp smells gross kind of damp/musty. But her scalp looks fine no flakes or anything.
She has what I thought was a birthmark think it's always been there that's a small red circle doesn't hurt or anything so I don't think that's to do with it. I can wash her hair and ten minutes later it stinks whereas her sisters will smell lovely of the shampoo (loreal kids) for days.
I feel awful because I'm sensitive to smells anyway and I can't help feeling grossed out and I've always loved cuddling up with the dd's and burying my face in their hair.
Anyone have any experience of this/any ideas of what it could be?
I'm thinking of taking her to the doctor if it continues but rather not as I don't want to bring her attention to it and make her self conscious of it.
