new cold going around?

My dd has had a runny nose ( which is clear) with lots of coughing. I thought it was her asthma playing up but a friend mentioned her toddler has has the same. Would be a small relief if anyone could let me know if it is a cold doing the rounds ( not THE virus obviously!)

My DS was off pre school all last week with a cold and a bad cough and DD still has it.
