DD has rough hair

(Not so much health but beauty)

My DD, who was born with some hair, and is now 21 months has nice shiny hair at the front, but at the back it is rough and coarse.I think it got like that from sleeping on her back when she was younger and less mobile. We periodically try and trim it but the rough hair doesn't seem to go.

Should we take her for her first haircut at a hairdressers?

oh ds2 is like that. doesn't matter what I do to it it just sticks up like a great bird's nest at the back.
bizarrely he doesn't even sleep on his back and never has so I have no idea why it goes like it.

it's not so much that it's sticking up, it's just much coarser than at the front, which is silky smooth.
