5yr old dd has just been diagnosed with overactive bladder

just wondered if anyone has any experience of this with their child/children .....does anyone know if its a disability ... she also has to take medication for this twice a day and has to wear special absorbent underwear .thanks

Dd had this; I think it can be all sorts of things, most of them nothing to worry about. In dd's case it was due to weak bladder muscles. She was advised to keep off coke and Ribena as they stimulate the bladder. She took the medication for a few years and was then able to come off it. Is still not entirely continent but much better than she was

"disability" is a very fluid concept. Unlikely you would get DLA for it, I'd have thought, and if the medication works then hopefully it won't be much of a hindrance to her in her daily life

she may well just grow out of it
