Another chicken pox question

I think 14mo ds2 has chicken pox (woken up with spots this morning) should 3yo ds1 stay away from other children too? He was born with chicken pox but I was advised that this wouldn't give him immunity.

hmm i'd have thought that would have given him immunity, but i'm no expert.
i'd prob keep him away just in case

Hmm don't know, ring NHS Direct.

If your 3yo hasn't got immunity, then being around his little sis with the pox is very likely to lead to him getting it, in which case he could easily be incubating it.
I would be sensible - hard to keep him right away from everyone, but maybe make a conscious effort not to mix with anyone you know is pregnant (and may not have had chicken pox, anyone you know who might be at risk if they should catch it, or any newborns.
It's going round where we live too - am waiting for ds4 to get it as the others have had it and only him to go now!

....as far as immunity goes, I think if a baby is very small when they get it or a child only has a very mild dose, it can sometimes not be enough to give them immunity and they can get it again. DS2 had it at 6mths but only mildy and he got it again "properly" at 2yrs.
