Ear infection?

A few days ago I noticed that one of my DS's ears was a bit warm & red but I didn't think that much of it to be honest.
He has had a fussy weekend, a bit off his milk etc & I noticed today that he has tugged at his ear a few times.
I've just taken his temp and it doesn't appear to be raised.
Does this sound like an ear infection?

Could well be - I would have it checked tbh as it could flare up quite quickly and cause him a lot of pain and discomfort.

I'm on the phone to the Dr right now.

Is it an emergency they're asking.

Why didn't you call before? asked the receptionist. What kind of question is that?!

Also, just because it's not infected today, doesn't mean it can't be tomorrow IYKWIM.

Doc said there was a mild infection.
Calpol & regular fluids.
Mild panic over
