Floradix - Available on prescription?

DS (13 months) has quite severe anaemia in addition to a severe cow milk protein intolerance.

Iron (liquid) is making him quite constipated. When I mentioned it to the consultant, he said to reduce it to twice a day, but couldn't go below this until his iron gets back to normal levels.

Has anyone had Floradix on prescription?

Have you tried Minidex? Is this what your using now? He needs vitamin C to help absorb the iron. Minidex is Iron & vit C together. You may find it his constipation lessens if he drinks a little bit more than usual each day. my dd has the same allergy and she has minidex and since i started using it a few weeks ago shes so different. Shes put on weight, looks fatter as she was sooo skinny before. Shes more alert and joins in with her cousins playing now.

Thanks - he's on Sytron at the moment and his iron levels are still really low. Floradix seemed like a good alternative, as it's natural.

Oh well.
