DD asleep but feels warm

DD (13mo) had a raised temp today and a gunky eye. The doc has given antibiotics which we have given and also Calpol to bring down her temp.

We gave this at 7pm and she is knackered and has been asleep since then. Just went in to touch her head and she still feels hot to touch (forehead). Her temp was 37.8 earlier, but as she is asleep and the thermometer is an in ear one I cannot take it again.

She is asleep (snoring), should we wake her and give her fluid? Should we try and take her temp again even though she is asleep? Should I just sleep on the floor in her bedroom??
What should we do??

I'd let her sleep. Is she appropriately dressed, no duvet etc?

I'd leave her and keep checking on her. People are normally warmer when they are asleep. If she's comfortable then I wouldn't wake her. You can pop it in her ear without waking her if you need to, it only takes a second to take a temp. Do call NHS direct if you are worried, they are better at this then us.

I hope she's feeling better soon.

she has a short sleeved vest on and is in a sleeping bag. i might sneak in and unzip it.

will try and get a temp reading.

thanks.
