First milk tooth very crooked - normal?

Hi there, my ds' first incisor has just come through at 9 months and it is very very crooked, to the point that it has almost turned 90 degrees! It looks very odd at the moment although is still just sitting level with the gum. Does anyone have any experience of this? Will it correct itself? I feel so sorry for him because he seems to have been in a lot of pain whilst teething, and now it looks like this tooth will rub on his lips and tongue! I read somewhere that crooked teeth can be caused by excessive use of a dummy, but he only has his dummy to sleep, and this seems such an extreme angle!
