Posted on here after dd1( 4) had had tonsillitus 3 x and I was worried about the amount of times she was taking antibiotics. Well, now she is on her 6th bout of it in about 5 and a half months and taking antibiotics again. We have had different antibiotics, longer periods of taking antibiotics and have been referred to an ENT specialist but all to no avail. The specialist said that it was very doubtful that she would be able to have her tonsils out but that if she has a third of the first term of school off ill then maybe. Our GP wants me to go and see him next Wed to consider her taking a continual low dose of antibiotics. Does anyone else have any experience of this? I hate her being on antibiotics and had the same problem when i was a teenager and had so many lots of medicine that after a while it just didn't work.
