My 3 year old seems to do extra large poo's is that normal?

My 3 year old daughter is fully potty trained, but when she goes for a poo i am slightly concered as they are generally very large and was wondering if it is normal or wether there is something not quite right.

It just means her body is able to digest her food correctly and she's not constipated.

thanks i was just concerned as i was shocked today that she actually managed to block the toilet

Very large poos that are enormous and block the loo can be a sign of constipation as it means that the poo has stretched the rectum because it has been in there so long.

If she poos most days and they are soft, easily passed and not overly humungous then don't worry.

sometimes she will go every day other times every 2 -3 days

My DD (4) has big poos that block the toilet, she isn't constipated, as has no problem getting them out but they always look wide compared to her. I think she blocks the toilet about once every other month at the moment and finds it highly funny

Sometimes she goes everyday and other times every other day. We have plenty of all the right stuff in diet and have been told this is what is normal for her as long as it doens't hurt for her.

My kids have been known to frequently produce "footlongs" but they are soft not hard, so don't tend to worry

tmi but my dd(3) poos every day, and they are often the size of my forearm...most days tbh. (I am quite petite)

DS2 (4 today) does the biggest poos. I honestly don't know how they come out of his little body.

LOL but thank goodness for this thread dd1 (3) and ds3(5) do the most enourmous poos. I to wonder how all that crap can come out of such wee bodies They do eat a lot and eat loads of fruit but it's not because they are constipated, they do these poos every day.

TBH I think its because we religiously stuff 5 a day down their necks! As u say its usually every day - if they suddenly do a small one then i'm more inclined to and start offering dried apricots...

don't worry if properly formed sausage shaped poo, but if the poos are copious and loose, floppy, foamy, or floaty, or pale yellow it can be a sign of them not absorbing properly due to eg dairy or wheat intolerance. DD used to do massive piles of soft poo on her potty - we overlooked these as normal and she was not diagnosed as coeliac till 3 yrs on (actually we did not ignore at first, when she was 2 and still in nappies and producing tonnes of poo so that every nappy would leak, we went to the gp who said there was nothing wrong )
