Hernia in 5 year old - how long to wait for op?

My DS1 has a hernia (right testicle is HUGE). Noticed yesterday at swimming.

Saw doc last night but, although good, he's attached to a hospital I don;t like (we're in Bahrain).

So, question is, how long can I really leave him before he needs an op. I have an appointment with another paediatrician at the hospital I want him to go to on Sunday. I just want to be comfortable with the hospital before he has this op - it's his first general anaesthetic and I'm very worried about it. On the other hand, I don't want to be "fussy" if it's something that needs immediate treatment.

Hope someone can help me out here.

I think if it is swollen then it should be operated immediatley

Good luck
