Floppy larynx and feeding question.

Just wondering if anybody was about to answer a question i have...ds is now 14 weeks and around 9 weeks his heep heep noise (stridor??) went away all together.
The last week it has come back at night time and during feeds and he is starting to slow down with his feeds and also drop the amount-was on 6oz now he struggles after 3-4 0z's.
Is this all normal with the return of the noise?
Also, is it common for the noise to come and go?

Hello, my little boy had this, he used to 'rattle' it came and went and lasted up to the age of one when it just vanished, he has no long term problems and it is not considered a serious problem at all, it just sounds bad, mine used to be rattling away all the time, its other people going on about it that makes it worse.
As for feeding, my pediatrication suggested the Haberman feeder, check the net for that one, it delivers the milk in a different way than a normal bottle. Otherwise give little sips and little rests during the feed. In a normal bottle the milk gushes out too quickly and chokes the poor little mites, good luck, it'll all go away soon enough. x

my daughter had the same until the age of one, solids made a huge difference. One piece of advice we were given was to give daughter a dummy/finger to suck on for a shor while before feeding, it made her relax a little and helped sometimes.

My dd2 had/has a floppy larynx, and the noise did seem to get better for a bit then got louder again - I'd forgotten that (she's 2 now, still a bit noisy when she has a cold at night). Feeding wasn't an issue for her, at least not with milk - she had no problem with it. Solids were tricky to start with because she couldn't manage 'mush', so pureed food was out - but she was fine with finger foods, so we did baby led weaning and she did well.

If milk is a problem, might be worth asking paediatrician/ENT team about possible reflux? Not necessarily vomiting, just 'silent' - because it can kick in after a few months, not always at the start, and is very very common with floppy larynx. Just wondering if your ds could be getting pain after the first couple of ounces, causing him to stop feeding?

Should add, dd didn't have a problem with milk but then again, she was on reflux meds from 8 weeks old - so hard to tell how she would have been without them!

Solids...now there is a mine field.What age is recommemded now is it 4 or six months

Ds has silent reflux and we have to give him Infant gaviscon but we only give it to him at his 11pm and 2am feed as this seems to keep it under control and doesnt constipate him-we have a mare when we were giving it to him in every bottle.

He doesnt seem upset when he refuses the milk just not interested.
