Have given wrong dose of Piriton!

DD has a scalp problem and is scratching badly at night. Dr gave me piriton but gave her first dose before and gave her 5ml instead of 2.5!!!!!! Rang NHS Direct and they weren't concerned really.

Anyone reassure me???? Such a bad mother!

I have done the same before.. dd had hives and I gave her 5ml instead of the 2.5ml. Also rang NHS Direct- we found them quite helpful..
DD will be fine..

I wouldn't worry about it, I did this when dd1 had chicken pox, phoned nhs direct- got a good telling off and told that an overdose would be over 10x the stated dose.

Thanks. Feel so stupid but suppose it's my own fault, should read things more carefully.

When I was pregnant I took Beta Blockers for 3 days thinking they were folic acid tablets! Flew into a mad panic then too!
