how can i get dd to stop picking at scab that now looks like it'll scar?

DD (2.6) scratched herself between the eyes, due to a ragged nail. problem is, she is an avid thumbsucker and now, everytime it looks like scabbing and healing, she picks it off with the finger she puts round her nose while sucking. the 'wound' has been there for about 6 weeks now and shows no sign of healing
any tips for stopping the picking?

can't think of anything to help stop the picking but if you tried Aloe Vera gel on it, this helps to heal quicker and less scaring. This might help to make it less of a scar or mark.

thanks , paraniodmother. i will go and get some aloe vera later today. i have been out and bought some of those little round spot plasters to try and stop her picking it at night.

bio oil works well on scars as well.. expensive but a little goes a long way!

can't think of anything for scab picking though

thanks BCNS - i have bio oil as am pg. i'll try that too.
she has happily gone to bed with a plaster on so just maybe it'll give it a chance to heal a bit.

Can't you just cut her nails? She won't be able to pick it off then.

fluffy, i have cut and filed them as low as i can get them but she still manages.

Have you tried putting plasters on her fingers? Mean but it stops them scratching.

Cut her nails really short so she can't pick at scab?

Put large plaster on the scab, covering her eyebrows if necessary?
