DS1 and the computer chair fell on top of DS2's foot this morning. DS2 gets up at 3 and is crying that his foot hurts and it has a bruise. Also yelps when I touch it. (He cried when it happened) Seems to be able to let me touch now but I am wondering if he could have a chipped bone or is it just painful because it is badly bruised? He is 3.9 btw.

Hiya, If u haven't already get it xrayed, friends daughter banged her foot and got v upset, gp said it was just bruised, but her clever mummy didn't believe him - had the foot xrayed and it turned out one of the foot bones has been dislocated by the impact. Bone relocated no probs straight away. sorted. Problem is that a 3.9 yr old has far more bones in their feet than an adult - the bones fuse as the child ages, if they are misaligned before they fuse it can cause very long term foot problems and surgery to correct. Better to be safe than sorry. Personally I would also rub on some arnica cream as it is excellent for bruises and v good pain relief without side effects. (Available in tesco's) Hope he's feeling better soon!!
