my DD1 has kidney problems, reflux nephrophy (sp!) with a fair bit of kidney damage as it wasnt diagnosed until recently (she is now 12) and as it runs in families, my DD2 has to go in for a scan. They havent yet actually said what kind of scan, but i am assuming that as they are checking for reflux, it will be a dye scan (DMSA scan).

Could anyone please give me some clues as to how they do this, as DD2 is very clingy, and the last time we were at hospital with her she screamed the place down and wouldnt let the docs any where near her!

My DD's BF aged 11 was diagnosed with the same thing at 4, her kidneys were badly damaged as well. I know she had dye scans and I am sure she was sedated for it when she was younger.

thanks for your reply, yes, my DD1 has had various dye scans - the worst one straigt into her bladder!!!!

dont think it will be that one for DD2, at least i hope not! Have first app with consultant next week, so will find out then i guess. Just tearing myself up worrying over it! I just hope she hasnt got it, as DD1 is in and out of hospital with water/kidney infections.

hope DD's BF is ok
