chicken pox and airlines HELP

DS2 has chicken pox since a week now, and every day he (still!) has new spots. We have a flight booked next monday, what will his spots look like by then? Will they allow him on board?

Of course my tickets are no change, no refund, ... argha . Posting in TRAVEL as well. Need to know if I have to search for a Ryanair alternative for later on. Many thanks in advance!!

They should all be scabbed over by then, if not healed...you can get a note from the GP saying he's ok to travel/past contagious period if you're worreid. It would be unusual for him to be getting new spots after ten days, I think.

Went through this last year, was on tenterhooks for travel but was fine. Good luck!

I agree with Elibean

Thank you both!I was already thinking at ways to hide it, like spread his face and t-shirt with chocolate and just pretend to be a really pig family!! Good idea, getting a note from GP!

as your ds is still getting spots, therefore he is still contagious, and its quite possible that the airline will say no

you can try getting a letter from the doctor, my friend did this, but the airline said no

hopefully spots will all scab over/dissapeer on his face so you can fly

I know, a note from the GP might not be enough. Anyway, we'll see the GP on Friday, get the note (if DS is fine by then) and cross fingers.
His spots just need to dry and fall. I have another question: To bath or not to bath? Will the drying process be faster?

i have always bathed in a cool bath with bicarb of soda to help the itching

not sure if will make spots less hard/crusty/fall
