13 mo still has no teeth

Not me, a friend at toddler group. Her DD is
13mo, and still has no teeth at all.
She is starting to fret there is something wrong with her (not an expert, but she seems fine developmentally to me, walking, starting to sound out words, etc).
She has asked doctor, dentist, HV and midwife, all say stop worrying. HV said if DD gets to 18mo, and still no teeth, then there may be cause for concern.
So, any experiance of this, what is the latest you have heard of a baby cutting it's first tooth?

DD1 now 13 got her first tooth at around 13 months.
and lost milk teeth late too.
seen as a good thing by our dentist as adult teeth not abused whilst young.

CarGirl · 27/03/2009 22:18

Not uncommon at all tell her not to fret!

piscesmoon · 27/03/2009 22:18

Mine weren't quite that late but they were late in comparison to most DCs, it was looked on as a good thing and they lost their milk teeth late.

Thanks lovelyshoes, I said I would post for advice for her, as she's getting really sick of people asking, 'does she have any teeth yet?'

Never stopped me as a toddler or my dc eating anything before they had teeth, only one of my 4 had teeth under a year old, think the latest was 16 months and had a friend whose dd was 2!!!

Hobnobfanatic · 27/03/2009 22:30

14 months for my DD. Didn't think they were ever going to come. The dentist was chuffed - it's good if they are late, apparently! They'll come eventually, don't worry!

MaureenMLove · 27/03/2009 22:32

DD is about 14 months too AND she had no hair to speak of til then either! As with others, it didn't stop her eating everything in sight!

MaureenMLove · 27/03/2009 22:33

WAS 14 mths! She's a teenager now!

BettySwollux · 27/03/2009 22:49
