I know i sound really paranoid but what happens if your child goes to bed well but gets a temperature in the night. Do they wake up and let you know? I have a fear about her overheating in the night and dying

Unless she has other health problems I would very much doubt there is anything to worry about.
If children wake up feeling unwell in their sleep they either cry or come and get you.

If you worries you that much, just make sure that they can kick their covers off if they are too hot.
