Pink skin under eye following nail varnish incident - advice?

DD (3) got hold of my nail varnish about a month ago and painted it around her eye! Husband dealt with it quickly by washing it out with water and got varnish off. No sign of any residue left in eye or any problems and she just looked a bit pink under her eye near her nose which looked like the result of him having to rub that area a bit to remove it all.

However a month or so on the pink is still there (slightly dry at times) - some days not so bad, some more obvious. If it was just bruising/irritation i would have expected it to subside by now, even if it hadn't gone. But its like there is very little change.

Any ideas how to deal with it? or why it would be taking so long to go?

thanks

I have no suggestions to offer about what it might be, but if I were you, I might want a doctor to take a look. Nail varnish contains some not too pleasant chemicals and eyes are pretty delicate. A month is a long time and being on the face and especially under her eye, I think I'd want to make sure...

thanks - do plan to ask the gp next time we go in but it doesnt look THAT bad some days. No sign at all of any redness in the eye. Just can't work out what the problem is...

I would have taken her before now to be honest.

I read this post at the time (see last entry) which i suppose made me worry less, as the eye seemed fine and it just looked rubbed skin underneath. But will get it checked..
