Hurt arm / elbow

DD (10) came off a pushbike yesterday and I ended up taking her to A&E as she was in a lot of pain. They x-rayed it and told me that they couldn't tell if it was broken or not.
We have to treat it as broken and they are getting the hospital to call us within a week to let us know the outcome.
She has been in tremendous pain today and I was hoping for a call today but none came.
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

Not a child, but me. When I fell off a bike, and landed on my elbow, the initial x ray showed nothing.

About a week later, I was contacted to say the x ray had been re-examined (routine, apparently) and they found that I had "shaved" a small part of bone off my elbow, which was sticking up the wrong way.

Sorry to hear of your DD's pain. I'd chase up the hospital again.

Hello WizzleWoo. I am here to offer sympathies as we have been thorugh the same today as DD (9) fell off some equipment at school today and has broken her arm. I hope you find out soon as it must be horrible not knowing and especially if she is in pain. Have they given you pain killers? We are alternating calpol and ibuprofen at the moment.

Thanks for the replies. We are also alternating calpol and ibuprofen.
Just found it strange that they wouldn't know what the x-ray showed.
Think I will go back if they dont contact us tomorrow as she cant even straighten it at the moment.
Hope that your dd is okay MegGriffin.
