Is this likely to be Chicken Pox?

DS1 has been playing with his cousins who have had Chicken Pox at various points during the last month, today i have noticed he has little blistery spots all down his legs and on his bottom and genitals. He says they itch a bit but not to badly. Does this sound like Chicken Pox? Do i do anything? Sorry to sound dim but i have only seen Chicken Pox at the end when the spots are quite scabbed over and there are loads of them everywhere.

Yes it does sound like CP. Some children are hardly bothered by it so you may be lucky. The spots come out gradually over the course of a few days, so keep an eye and see what happens.

At least you won't be peering at your child several years later still wondering when the pox will arrive.

Not that I want my dd to be poorly or anything - its just the wondering. she is 9 now. every other child I look at seems to have the pox atm but dd is determined not to get it.

sorry, that was a bit random!
