Teething and Cold

My daugher (8 months) has just cut her first tooth and seems to have developed a runny nose too. Is this a symptom of teething? I return to work in two days after maternity leave and she is starting nursery. What do I do?

My DCs always had cold-like symptons whilst teething. Don't know why, but you get to know the signs!

Mine too - they say it isnt linked but it seems to be in our house.

They go to nursery with colds - otherwise they would always be at home...

So is it ok to put her to nursery? I'm stressing as I've already asked for time off work the week after to move house.

Yes - we only keep dcs off nursery for d&v and big things like chicken pox - they go with colds.

Ok, all new to me. If they send her home fair enough then its out of my hands. I feel so guilty wanting her to go if she's ill.

Don't worry Claire - if they sent home all the kids with runny noses it would be like the Marie Celeste - once they start nursery they get way more colds as well...

Any advice on helping her sore gums, I'm putting on teething gel but she won't let me near!! Just been giving her some Calpol before bed but she's quite restless.
