ds2 is 16 weeks and to cut a long story short he is under the paed. He is awaiting for an appt to have a camera up and down him and biopsys taken. Im waiting for HV to call me back but what i want to know is what should his poo look like?

They are v formed (quite hard) and are green also a bit mucousy. Just wanting general consensus on it? Have left 2 msgs on a/phone but not sure if i should wait in for call back. He's ok unless he is feeding.... He is on domperidone and nanny goats milk

His poo will prob look as you describe then. the mucus is common as my dd's was the same. Shes fine now - on Soya formula.

Chellesgirl · 16/03/2009 12:46

why are they putting camera up him if they know the prob? And also biopsy? a bit too much for his little body to handle?

no he has quite a few ptobs. they said was just reflux and he hasnt responded to meds and has breathing probs...various things going on. i told them fri his feeds were getting worse sotheydo know. today he isnt taking more than 3-4 oz and taking about an hour, he is taking a few mouthfuls and pulling away crying, like he had a sore throat, but def his tummy as he keeps bending himself in half IUSWIM? HV didnt say much, just that they understaffed and if im worrued i should take to gp. gp never been any help in past but would you go today if me? Hes ok between feeds when not in pain

I would go today and demand he gets put on soya. nanny goats milk could still be hurting his belly.

My dd knows how your ds2 feels.

dd had breathing problems too. she used to 'choke' if you can call it that, all the time.

dd used to be exactly the same, shes 13 months now and after being put on soya she was the happiest baby. HV is never any help, i know how you feel.

Chellesgirl · 16/03/2009 13:17

the reflux can be because of the lack of calcium and can cause gas (flactulence)

mad4mybaby · 16/03/2009 14:53

he is intollerant to soya, tried it. also been on nutramigen and neocate etc. he has a VERY sensitive tummy which is partofwhy they need to look inside. he had bad reaction to 2 meds which the paed said was very rare

Are you able to try Rice milk if all else fails? I think I may start dd on this due to all the bad press regarding soy and cancer!
