i think dd has had molluscum (only two !) on her leg and knee for a while but the other day when i was getting her ready for bed i noticed she has similar spots (about 5 or 6) around her genitals. do you think they will need to be removed? should i bother taking her to the doctor or will she think i am ridiculous? am just a bit worried they might spread inside iykwim. i thought you could only get them on limbs [stupid emoticon]

I think you can get them anywhere?

i did wonder at the time whether they might be the start of chicken pox but nothing further has developed

my dd had them all over her bottom, genitals, inner thighs. they kept getting sore and infected from her night nappy rubbing. Dr said there was nothing they would recommend in a child ie not burn them off - too painful. They did go eventually - but pretty bad for 6m or so. I bought a few herbal remedies as recommended on here and put tea tree oil in bath. No idea whether they helped but made me feel I was at least trying !

DD had quite a few and now (a year later) she has one left and it is nearly gone. I yook her to the doc when they first appeared and he just said it was very common and would disappear of their own accord when DD's immune system worked out how to get rid.
