Is this a viral rash?

My DD is 21 months, has a slight cold (runny nose, bit of a cough - nothing major) and a rash, mainly over her legs. Can be seen "under the skin" IYKWIM in other areas, but I wouldn't say it was everywhere. Red, pin prick rash (that blanches ok), not hot or itchy. No fever but very whingy, not eating very well, tired, just sitting in front of cBeebies.

Do you think its just a viral rash? I'm not overly worried but I have a 5 week old baby....

I've given her some calpol, and she is due for a nap (hence might be the reason why she's tired), so perhaps I should see how she is at lunchtime..

Any advice very welcome

TIA

my daughter brodie is 18 months,we took her to the doctors monday, with a red blotchy rash on her lower thighs she was whingy and pale.the doctor said it was just a viral infetion and to treat it with paracetamol liquid.

Well today she is doing better but has a spotty rash over her back and chest and still red blotches on her thighs, doctor still says its just on a viral infection on its way out of her system.

Brodie has been slightly off her food also with a temp of 39,strangely her twin sister is completely unaffected but i would take your dd to the doc,or ring the nhs helpline just to be sure.

Thanks. Went to GP and yes, viral rash! Sounds remarkably similar to your DD
