Anyone know anything about CRP?

DD1 has been having leg pains for a while now and it seems to be worse if shes had a busy day. Took her to doctors and had blood results back today. Results showed raised CRP levels and an appointment has been made for next week.
I know they were checking for arthantis (sp??) but thought CPR is imflamation

anyone know anything?

CRP is a marker of imflammation, but arthritis can be an imflammatory condition.

the above is true but the most common reason for a raised CRP is infection - of any type.

can also be any inflammatory condition

is very non specific, and quite often is raised and then comes back down to normal before a cause is found

CRP is a marker for inflammation (and therefore infection as infection causes inflammation) - but rheumatoid arthritis is one of teh classical inflammatory disorders for which CRP is raised.

I suspect that the reason CRP was done was as an indicator as arthritis in the first place given the history.
